Making stories of Geology and Culture Accessible
At The Neev Project, we are passionate about providing an experience that focuses on the geological relevance of the land and how it has shaped the culture of Ladakh and eventually India. Our immersive experience is designed to uncover the language of the earth and read the story it tells from the landscapes around us.
"Neev" in Hindi stands for foundation, much like the rocks beneath us. Over the next five years, this project aims to build a robust framework for integrating geological knowledge with cultural and ecological narratives in areas of significant geological importance and cultural sensitivity, empower local communities, and advocate for the conservation of these unique landscapes
We begin out pilots In ladakh in summer of 2025, starting with workshops for local ladakhi students between the ages 15 to 21.
Kanchi Dave
Founder and Project Lead
Kanchi is a passionate advocate for sustainability and environmental conservation, with over five years of experience in engaging and building capabilities within corporate, government, and grassroots organizations. She holds a BSc in Earth and Environmental Sciences from the University of British Columbia.
Ifthakar Ali
Project Collaborator (Ladakh)
Ifthakar or Ifti has been in the tourism business for about 8 years. Having lead hikes, bike tours and a travel guide. When he's not working you can find him bird watching or hiking the mountains he calls his backyard.
